8th of September I was riding with my new friend Katariina. I met Katariina through our biker women’s Facebook group and this was our first time riding together. She has an old Suzuki VX800.
I had planned a trip to Restaurant Hiidenpirtti 78 kilometers away from our starting point. One way would take about 1,5 hours. My route took us there via Nurmijärvi and Vihti so there was nice curvy roads instead of highways.
Hiidenpirtti had a large parking lot. We parked our bikes right in front of the terrace because it seemed like the right spot to park motorcycles. Surprisingly we were the only bikers there. Moments later one or two bikers came along. The weather was sunny and warm and several bikers were just riding past the restaurant.
We bought some coffee (the restaurant offers also hot food) and sat on the covered terrace which had a view on the lake next to the restaurant. A few motorboats seemed be on the move as well as some were parking on the restaurant’s visitor dock. Too bad the restaurant didn’t have its own beach, not that I would have gone swimming, but when thinking about the future visits there!
Coming back we took a route from the south. There was a really annoying roadwork next to Lake Bodom, but otherwise than that it was a good route.
Hiidenpirtti was a new place to me and I liked it (beautiful spot for a restaurant) so maybe I’ll visit there again next summer! I hope I get to ride with Katariina too again because our bikes and riding style fit together quite well. 🙂
